TGIF

Sleeping in. What is sleeping in? Amelia doesn't know. Her parents no longer know.
At least this Sesame Street snuggle time made up for the 6 am wake up.

Last night I went to ladies night downtown with my mom, and family friend Lynn. When I told Adam I would be going to ladies night with my mom, he laughed at me. "Where is that gonna be?" he said with a {have fun with that, you party animal you} smirk on his face. Truth is, these days I would rather be going to ladies night with my mom for a wine and cupcake tasting than out to a bar for 1/2 off shots {barf} and $2 Pink Panty Pull Downs. Ok, not all entirely true. I would also enjoy having girlfriends to go out with, but for the most part I'm too old and mom-ish to stay up until the wee hours of the morning drinking cocktails. I know, I'm only 22, but like I've said before, I'm trapped in a 50 year old woman's body. A 50 year old body that still requires sleeping in.

After FWB's Ladies Night Downtown we drove over to AJ's in Destin to see the fireworks they do every Thursday night. I really love living here!!!!

All of this fun and I was home by 10. Awesome! ;-) Be back Sunday or Monday to post about the Christmas in July party Saturday.

Friends on the way, and boat in the water. Happy weekend!

hurry up, weekend!

Last night super-storm came through Fort Walton. Holy thunder and lightning!! It first woke me up at 3.15, and Adam was not in the bed? Freak me out even more!!!! I jumped out of bed to see where my missing husband was, and found him in the kitchen wide awake "just getting a sip of water". It then took me over an hour and a half to fall back asleep. The house shook every time the thunder rolled. I so want to make a nerdy Garth Brooks lyrical comment here, but I'll refrain {just for you Adam}.The day today was just as long as last night. Amelia played, I cleaned up. Amelia ate, I cleaned up. Amelia pooped, I cleaned up. Amelia ran her macaroni & cheese hands through her hair, I bathed her. It's really tiring being a mom, ya know?

I've applied to two jobs in the past two days. One that MAY be a scam, and that is blogging for my hometown. Craigslist, I do not have very nice things to say about you and your scams. I was pretty excited about this. I could work from home on my own schedule and still possibly hold another job? $15 a post is what they were offering to pay. They said there was a minimum of 2 blogs a week. Which would make the minimum $120 a month. Ya know what cost $120 a month???  Mommy's Day Out. It sounded like it was meant to be. We'll see if it's a scam or real life soon enough. The other job I applied for is at a law firm here in town. I'm definitely not very qualified for the position as I have no experience in law, but they said that wasn't mandatory so I hope that is overlooked. It is the perfect hours for me, and seems like something I could catch on to right away. So that's that. Wish me luck with this job thing. It makes my anxiety rear it's ugly head.

Amelia is apparently terrified of getting her toenails painted. Every time I pulled the brush out of the bottle and went to paint a toenail she kicked the brush. I may have gotten one toenail painted, but pretty much covered all of her toes. She's got pink toes, not toenails. Funny little kid (not so much baby anymore :( ) She peed on herself after getting a bath last night, and thought it was too funny that it was running down her legs. She was throwing her hands up in the air and eventually forcing herself to laugh so that Auntie M and I would continue to laugh. We were crying we were laughing so hard!! Guess ya had to be there.

I'm babbling on tonight for some reason. Perhaps it was all the time I spent indoors today with Amelia. I'm in need of adult conversation, and right now this is as good as it's gonna get for me. Soccer is on, and Adam's attention is elsewhere. Can't wait for my friends to get here tomorrow Friday morning at 5 AM. The Christmas in July party is coming together, and we have a whopping 13 guests confirmed. Wooohooo!

No pictures from today, but I have been working on Amelia's photobook of her first year of life and came across some SWEETNESS that I'm going to leave you with...

mommy needs a day out

I did some surfing of the web for a Mommy's Day Out around here. I shouldn't have done it, I know...I came across the First Methodist Church Preschool program! They have a Wee "Ones" for one year old kiddos like mine. They offer all week for the munchkins, but I would only be interested in 2 days. Problem is, child care ain't free. It's very reasonable, just not reasonable enough for me. $120 for 2 days a week. That's 8 days a month, so basically $15 a day. Not bad, huh? And it would be really good for Amelia!! So I'm taking donations. Anyone wanna go 50/50 with me? No? Oh well. It was worth a shot. I suppose I don't really need two mornings to do what I want/need to do without a little person yanking down my shorts. There's always next year!

Unfortunately I left my phone and camera at home yesterday, and missed the opportunity to snap a picture of Amelia making out with the Old Navy dog. Seriously, tongue out lickin' and kissin'. There was really no stopping her, so I just had to laugh.

It looked something like this...

Happy Tuesday!
