...and one more month closer to Amelia's birthday!! I always like to think of April showers (me crying about being so dang pregnant) bringing May flowers (Amelia)! So lame, I know...but I can't help where my mind goes!

And speaking of flowers, Adam has been really good about keeping flowers in the vase on the kitchen table for me. I think next time I need would love some flowers that look like this....

one year is approaching!

Amelia will be 1 so soon!!!! It's crazy to watch her grow. Everyday she does things that surprise me, and make me so sad/happy that she's getting big. She's going through quite the stage right now. She knows what she wants and when she wants it! The girl is constantly on the move. She's been cutting two more teeth and has been quite difficult the past two weeks. She sat on the couch with me and Adam today, and watched TV and ate my frozen yogurt. A few minutes after, the cat got on the couch, and she had the closest thing to a conversation she's ever had with the cat. Not me, but the cat. Those 5 minutes were the cutest/big girl things she's done yet. I've complained maybe a little too much about how tiring and whiny she has been lately. Unfortunately, it just seems that complaining comes more naturally. My mom said I make her sound like an ogre! So that's been her nickname that her Auntie M and I have given her all week. She has been quite the little ogre lately, but I love her all the same! I love the way she laughs, plays with my hair while she drinks her bottle, gets so excited to see her owls in her room right when she wakes up, the way she whispers to the cat and her toy car, her puffy eyes after napping, her little fingers and hands, the way she loves her dad, the way she wanted the Japanese waitress to hold her at the restaurant today and the way she knows and loves her family. I'm so glad she gets to grow up near my family! It makes me sad that I didn't get the chance to grow up in the same town as my cousins, aunts/uncles and cousins. I do wish Adam's family was closer to us too, so she would have all of her family around. We try to visit as often as we can, but it's not the same!

I have a wish list that seems to keep on growing. Unfortunately for me, my birthday is 8 months away and Christmas, 9. Hmmmm..... what to do. What to do.. winning the lottery is really the only choice that I have.

Its funny the things that excite you once you are a mom. All week long I've been waiting for Friday morning. The Cash In The Nursery sale takes place twice a year and is going on this weekend! Isn't it sad that every time I saw a sign around town I wanted to scoop it up, so that I would have less moms to fight over clothes with?!? I'm that crazy mom. But I didn't do it..All my monies earned at work this week will be going towards Amelia's gently used/new to us wardrobe. If I don't find what I need I will be really disappointed, because I've been fighting the urge to shop online BabyGap all week long! With the awesome weather we have been having here, I want Amelia to have some fun new threads. Speaking of the awesome weather here in Florida, its supposed to be up to 80 degrees this weekend!!!!!!!!!! YAHOO! I love love living at the beach. Amelia does too, and our new favorite spot is the park at Navarre bridge.This is where we swing, eat sand and slide with Auntie M.

As if we don't have enough pictures of Amelia, we will hopefully be getting some pictures of her this weekend in some outfits her Gi and her Honey have bought her. Happy weekend everyone!


p.s.- I made dinner tonight, and Adam didn't end up having to go pick up Chinese food. Score one big one for me!

birthday pie

Happy Birthday to my sweet hubby! Although you chose to spend your birthday fishing (AGAIN) instead of hanging with me and Amelia, I chose to make you a cherry pie on your special day anyways. I didn't even cheat and buy the pre-made pie filling like many people told me to do. I took some pictures along the way of my first pie making. It turned out delicious!! I meant to take one of those one-bite-in pictures to show the gooey yummy inside, but after just one bite my mind was elsewhere.

Oh, and a tip for anyone who doesn't know this...make sure you match up your size of the pie pan with the size of the crust you're using. Or you might lose some edges in the oven..and have a very smoky house.

I've given myself a pat on the back for this one. It was really easy, but so easy I was worried something would go wrong.  I may have started something though. There may be a higher demand for cherry pies around here now. I used splenda instead of sugar, so I would rather him eat mine than McDonald's!

I enjoy cooking when the food turns out right.

Sunday morning I got an e-mail stating that my bank account was dangerously low. I ran to Jenna's room to get on her computer and check the account. Thanks Mint.com, for sending me an email that was not accurate, and causing me to exercise far before I was ready (it had been a long night of sippin' and strokin' the night before). Anyways, the good thing is for some reason Mint.com was wrong and there was nothing to worry about. Although, while I was looking at the account I found something. It appears that while I'm at work during the day, Adam does a little online shopping. Something is very wrong with this picture!!! Lots of somethings actually. I should be the stay at home parent, and I should be the one doing the online shopping!! Hmph! I waited until last night to bring up the issue, and I jokingly (but seriously) let Adam know that I knew what he was up to. He just smiled. There was nothing he could say to defend himself. He was caught! When he fell asleep I started to search for all of the things I want to buy online right now. I designed my own sectional couch on Home Reserve, filled up a cart on Amazon, etsy and Target. I'll be honest, the bank account is in much better hands with Adam's online shopping than mine. It's just too tempting. Thankfully we just paid off our debt, and we don't have credit cards anymore. Having credit cards would make online shopping even more dangerous!

I blame this girl for my full shopping carts.

 I want to buy her anything and everything!! Who cares that I have hardly any clothes that fit these days. She's cuter.

By the way, I didn't purchase anything that I filled my shopping car with. Although I am reallllyy considering going back and getting Amelia this dress for her birthday!

bargain

Well, another good yard sale weekend wasted. Ok, not wasted..I'm going to be happy where I'll be, but so sad I won't be out sifting through other people's junk stuff. Speaking of sifters, if you see one this weekend momma will you scoop it up for me? And a rolling pin? Since I won't be attending any yard sales this weekend, I went by the goodwill and a flea market in FWB today to get my fix. Got some great deals!!! Big thanks to my mom for teaching me how to bargain with people. It can be a little embarrassing, but worth it. And I would say I would never see those people again, but I will. There were 2 big Target lamp shades one marked 3.99 and one marked 8.99. I took both to the front and asked why they were marked differently, but the same shade. The girl told me because one had a tag on it and one didn't. So I asked if she would ask her manager if she could give me both shades at the lower price (that's where it got embarrassing..holding up the line, and stepping on the cashier's toes and what not..), but it paid off!

running on no sleep

Amelia's cough is absolutely pitiful! We took her to the doctor today, and he gave us an inhaler/face mask for bed time (yeh, thats gonna go over real well) and some saline spray for her nose. Thats it? Thats it. I can't possibly understand how this is going to make her get better, but I guess we are going to give it a shot. Her cough is really only bad when she's sleeping? I dont understand that either, but couldn't imagine a worse time for her coughing fits to take place. One cough triggers a 100, and between each cough is the saddest little cry. Any suggestions for me since they don't make infant cough medicine? :( I can't wait for her to get better, and for all of us to catch up on a little sleep!! All thoughts and prayers for my little are appreciated. I hope she gets better before I leave for the weekend, so it will make things a little easier on Adam. Speaking of the weekend, I get to fly to ATL to spend some time with my Hens for some of our Hennies birthdays! :-D

Today's the 1st of the month so we are off to the grocery store for our biggest purchase of the month. I love grocery store days, and putting my coupons to use!!!!

p.s.- Even though Amelia is sick, she's still the sweetest, funniest baby ever. She loves to drive her car around the neighborhood. She likes to whisper in baby talk as she rides drives around, and I can hardly stand the cuteness!!
